Safer Sex Guidelines
HIV/AIDS is one of the few preventable diseases in the world today. How? By practicing either abstinence or by using a polyurethane or latex condom, you greatly reduce the risk of contracting this fatal sexually transmitted illness.
Health Canada has developed a comprehensive listing of certain sexual practices, the level of risk involved and how to make them safer. Since it is safer, this does not mean you eliminate the risk of HIV transmission, but simply reduce your risk. Abstinence is the only 100% effective way to avoid infection. If you have any questions please contact your family physician or call us at 973-0222.
This guideline is available for download from our site in PDF format. You will need to have Adobe Acrobat Reader installed on your computer in order to view them or, simply click on the left menu to view them online.
